This is the Internet Marketing Get-It-Going Club, or imgigclub.com. It is a site dedicated to getting internet-based marketing businesses up and running, and growing them into the type of financially liberating entities that everyone seems to dream of.
The site is run by Tim ‘Get-It-Going’ Junck. Now, I cannot say I’m a multi-billionaire with hugely successful sites. But I can confidently say that I’ve created, worked through and overcome a whole collection of problems. And I’ll do my best to help steer your away from the same problems, both by advocating more successful approaches, and by sharing my experiences.
My background was in UNIX System Administration with large corporations in Chicago, and then with a multinational and rather large systems software provider. I worked in technical support, onsite client consulting, and in Asia I dabbled in a bit of the presales activities of my company. I have lived in Wisconsin; Chicago; New York (not the city); Orange County California; Madrid, Spain; Singapore; Melbourne, Australia; and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Along with my computer work, I also had a second major in Spanish back in my university days.
I have helped to set up and run an eBay training site which was run quite interactively, with the main focus being on member calls with an eBay power seller. While I worked on the backend membership site, protection of our digital products from electronic thievery and such, my partner helped a good number of people develop 4-figure monthly incomes on eBay.
Many of those people were successfully marketing on eBay, but I would say that many of them did not develop strong marketing skills for any environment other than eBay. All-in-all, eBay seems to be a wonderful marketplace with people looking to purchase things – if you can step in and provide something that is in demand, you can do quite well there!
Now I am finally working to build up my own websites and to market from my own web business. I really kick myself for the 3 years I spent working to support others, accumulating learning and experience, but not building a customer list, a membership site, or any real business asset of my own.
So now I will build this site. I offer my technical expertise, my people and language skills, and my own 3 years of frustrations and triumphs. It is worth mentioning that there are few marketers – few “gurus” and established trainers – that I still really trust and follow. Yes, I think I may be more skeptical than others. But I also think I’ve just got a simpler approach to things, I don’t like all the hype, and I truly appreciate substance. Hopefully your ideas and mine are in alignment, and you’ll benefit from what I will share.
If you do need a training package on something, please ask! I’ve got so many things accumulated here, much of it purchased with the intent to help other people get started. I am sure some people will take what I have to offer and leapfrog ahead of me in terms of sales, business structure and partnerships. I look forward to that. If you succeed faster and bigger than me, if I’ve contributed to that success, will be seen as a personal achievement. I always have enjoyed helping and teaching others; to some extent it is a weakness.
What would YOU like assistance with? What can I provide that you cannot find by way of assistance, guidance, feedback or just discussion?
I believe there is a radio show, a membership site or two or three, many webinar training series, maybe a forum – with both public and private areas – as well as hours-for-dollars technical services and coaching in store for this site and some helper sites. And I do need to set up an e-learning marketplace for all these great training packages I’ve hand-selected over the last 2 years.
Please don’t hesitate to leave a comment, suggestion, compliment or complaint. The discussion will be interesting, and will help many people now and in the years to come.
